Clerodendrum paniculatum, is a shrub native to tropical Asia and Papuasia, which is widely naturalized in India, Fiji, French Polynesia, and Central America. It is now widely cultivated in tropical gardens throughout the world.

The small red flowers are borne in massive panicles up to 1 feet or more in height, at the end of branches. The flowers within the pyramid shaped cluster are tiered, like a Japanese Pagoda, hence the name.

It forms the host plant of several butterflies such as Common Rose, Crimson Rose, Common Mime, Southern Birdwing, Lime Swallowtail, Peacock Royal, Blue Mormon etc.
